Private one-to-one · in person · Pune

Private yoga classes in Pune.
In person, in the room.

One-to-one yoga, in person in Pune — twelve private sessions a month, shaped only for you and adjusted by hand. Taught by Shambhavi, in the Bihar School of Yoga lineage, with an M.Sc. in Yoga Science. In-person practice happens here, in Pune, only — everywhere else, the same teaching continues online.

What it is

Your body, my whole attention. In the same room.

When we practise in person, I can see what a screen hides — the held breath, the guarded hip, the way you carry the day in your shoulders. The practice is shaped to you, adjusted by hand, and it changes as you do.

in person

Hands-on, in Pune

We meet in my space in Pune. Gentle adjustment by touch, posture corrected in the moment — the things a video call can never quite reach.

shaped for you

Built around your body

Not a set sequence. We begin with a conversation, then build a practice for your body, your concerns, the life you're actually living.

a steady rhythm

Twelve sessions a month

Three a week, near enough — close enough together that the body remembers between sessions, and real change has room to settle in.

What a session is

The shape of an hour. Every time.

There's no fixed sequence — the practice is anatomy-led, decided in the room, following how the practice is built. The arc of an hour holds steady.

we begin

A conversation, and a look

We start by talking — what's changed, what hurts, what's easy. Then I watch how you move.

we work

Asana and pranayama, by hand

Postures and breath, and where it's right, the shatkarma cleansings or meditation — adjusted by touch.

we close

Rest — Yoga Nidra, or stillness

We end lying down, often in Yoga Nidra, so the hour has somewhere to settle before you leave the room.

Who this suits

When the room matters more than the screen.

Online works for most people, most of the time. In-person suits a smaller set of reasons — if one of these is yours, the room is worth it.

an old injury

A hip, a shoulder, a spine that needs watching

When a joint has a history, hands-on correction catches what a screen can miss — the small compensation, the guarded muscle, the angle that's a few degrees off.

a body that's stopped trusting itself

Chronic pain, or the fear that comes with it

Some bodies need a hand nearby before they'll let go. That's not a failing — it's information. I'm not here to fix you; I'm here to help you find your way back in, safely, at your pace.

showing up matters

You know you need the room, not the option to skip

Some people practise best when getting there is part of the ritual. If that's you, twelve sessions a month, in the same room, at the same time, builds a rhythm a screen can't.

Who teaches you

Shambhavi. Fifteen years in the room.

Every private session in Pune is taught by Shambhavi herself — read more about her training, or see her writing in the journal.

lineage

Bihar School of Yoga

Trained within the tradition — a way of living, not poses to perform.

academic

M.Sc. in Yoga Science

A Master's degree in the physiology behind the practice — nerves, hormones, breath.

based here

Around fifteen years, in Pune

Teaching in person here, online everywhere else. Her only work.

Where, how often, how much.

Common questions

Questions, before you begin.

A few things people ask before the first session.

where

Where in Pune do we meet?

In my own space, not a public studio. I don't publish the address in advance — we'll confirm it once we've spoken.

beginners

Do I need experience to start?

No. What I teach is shaped to where a body actually is, not where a class assumes it should be. If you've never practised, we begin exactly there.

what to bring

What should I bring, or wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, and a mat if you have one — I keep spares if not.

injuries

What if I have an injury or a medical condition?

Yoga may support how a body moves and recovers, but it isn't a substitute for medical care. Tell me before we begin — and if you're pregnant or managing a condition, please speak with your doctor too.

online instead

How is this different from practising online?

In person, I can adjust by hand and see what a screen hides. In-person sessions are here in Pune only; everywhere else, the same teaching continues online — one-to-one at $499, or the live group class at $80.

travel or missed

What if I travel, or miss a session?

Tell me ahead of time where you can. Twelve sessions a month is a rhythm, not a rigid contract.

try first

Can I try a class first?

The free demo is online, by request, with no fixed schedule and no cost. In-person work begins after we've spoken.

how to start

How do I start?

Write in first at the inquiry form, or begin directly if this already feels right. Either way, we'll speak first.
